Update #21 for Wyatt Paul Sherwood
8.30.21
Different update picture ... let's do a picture of him instead lol!
I got to see squishy today! Wyatt is officially 3 weeks old and he is doing really well! He is starting to fatten up a bit so you can't see all his veins. He is wearing preemie PJs and loving every min of being wrapped in clothes because he is able to regulate his body temperature a bit better. They did some blood tests and they said that he is doing really well and he is building bone density well too, but he is anemic (which is normal being a preemie) so they are going to up his iron levels and see if he "grows out of it". If Wyatt's levels are still low when they run the tests again (a week or two) they will look at doing a small blood transfusion from a blood donor or from Zach first if he chooses to donate. They upped his feeds to 28ml and are slowly upping them again. He is showing them when he is hungry (really close to his feed times) because he gets fussy. He is becoming stronger because he is lifting his head, squeezing your finger and rolling a bit already. He is responding to the sound of your voice and looks straight at you! He will have his eye test around the 9th of September and they will be able to get a better image of his optic nerve.
These are the qualifications for Wyatt to get home too: eating a full bottle or "feed" without problems, be able to regulate his body temperature in a crib (he is still in an isolate), be on room air, no cords and pass the carseat test.
I can't thank the doctors, nurses and everyone that has been caring for us all during this time.
πππ» Thank you so much Wyatt's Warriors, please keep the prayers coming! ππ»π
