Update #49 for Wyatt Paul Sherwood

9.27.21

Talked with the nurse practitioner today and because he is "at the end stages", it is truly up to him on when he comes home now.  They want two good days of 70%+ on his feeds to be put on an adlib schedule (eat when he wants, however much he wants).  When this happens he just has be gaining weight.  Now, this is not a stopping factor but, they would also like to see him off of the nasal cannula and on room air (honestly so would I, this means less risk of RSV).  Right now he is on 25% oxygen, so just a wiff of air.  So, mama will head up to the hospital early tomorrow and see if she can help squishy to get on the adlib schedule...until then we don't have much more to say.

OH, he did take breastmilk again today.  Not sure what it was before but this is why we kept trying.

Weight: 5lbs 7.7oz
Height: 18in
Head: 12in
Gestation: 36.1 weeks
Age: 49 days
Accomplishments: Holding my head up and pushing away from mama all on my own!

These are the qualifications for Wyatt to get home too: eating a full bottle or "feed" without problems, be able to regulate his body temperature in a crib, be on room air/ no cords, be at least 4lbs 5oz and pass the carseat test.

Carseat Test: must sit in thd carseat for 90 to 120 minutes or the length of the car ride home (45 min), whichever is longer.  During the test, the nurse will monitor your baby’s heart rate, breathing and oxygen level.  As long as there is no change and he can hold his head up okay, without problem than he passes!

Oh, and mommy and daddy have to pass the baby CPR, shaken baby and carseat safety tests before he comes home.

I can't thank the doctors, nurses and everyone that has been caring for us all during this time.

😇🙏🏻 Thank you so much Wyatt's Warriors, please keep the prayers coming! 🙏🏻😇
