Update #5 for Wyatt Paul Sherwood
8.14.21
Just received a phone call from his nurse giving me an update! They removed his ventilator and put him on a baby CPAP machine. He had a little bit of a hiccup with the new machine only in the beginning. He "forgot to breath" and his heart rate dipped, only twice. The first time he just needed a little stimulus on his back or chest from a nurse to remind him he is doing this on his own today. The second time he came out of it himself and pretty quickly. He has since been loving this new machine so much better. He is tolerating feedings so well that they are going to be bumping him up throughout the day to 15ml of breastmilk. The only negative thing (which isn't that negative) is due to his bruising his bilirubin numbers went up a bit today after they removed the pillow that he was laying on last night so they are putting him back on that pillow. ***Ooops I forgot, he also gained a couple ozs.***
Overall he is progressing pretty well and I am excited to hear what his care team has to say about his plan of care on Monday.
I can't thank the doctors, nurses and everyone that has been caring for us all during this time.
😇🙏🏻 Please keep the prayers coming 🙏🏻😇
