Update #8 for Wyatt Paul Sherwood
8.17.21
Just received a call from Wyatt’s nurse practitioner, Kendra with another great update. They are increasing his feeds to 19ml over 2 hours and adding a burp adapter to his feeding tube to help him with his reflux and allow him to expell the air in his belly while eating. They will then continue to increase his feeds by 1ml every 12 hours. Babies around his "age" are around 22ml for feedings. Due to him doing so well and being so close to that number, when his IV is done they will be removing that line and just supplementing the nutrients in his feedings. Yipee, less lines! They will also continue to monitor him as they removed the bilirubin lights yesterday and he went back up but it was not a large jump. They will be leaving his CPAP as he is still doing really well on that and had no significant episodes. They did say he went down in weight to 2lbs. 9.4oz. this is not a concern as weight fluctuates on babies like it fluctuates on adults and if it is not a large decrease there is nothing to be concerned about. He is overall doing really well and they are still really impressed by him.
I can't thank the doctors, nurses and everyone that has been caring for us all during this time.
😇🙏🏻 Thank you so much Wyatt's Warriors, please keep the prayers coming! 🙏🏻😇
